Man Van Newcastle started with one van, a lot of elbow grease and a simple idea: that moving house or shifting furniture shouldn't be stressful, confusing or eye-wateringly expensive. Years and thousands of moves later, that idea still runs everything we do.

Our story

We began in 2016 as a genuinely small operation — one man, one van, helping friends, neighbours and then their friends move around Newcastle. Word spread the way it does in a place like this: because we turned up when we said we would, charged what we quoted, and didn't scratch the furniture. As demand grew, so did the team, but we've deliberately stayed local and owner-run rather than becoming a faceless chain. When you call us, you speak to the people who'll actually do your move.

What we believe

Three things, really. First, that an honest fixed price beats a ticking clock every time — you should know what a move costs before it starts. Second, that care matters more than speed: a wardrobe carried carefully up the stairs is worth more than a job rushed and a wall scuffed. And third, that being local is a genuine advantage — we know the back lanes, the parking, the tight tenement stairs and the Tyne crossings, and that knowledge saves you time and money.

Experienced and accountable

Between us we've handled just about every kind of move the region can throw at us: third-floor Quayside flats with no lift, Victorian terraces with impossible staircases, full family homes, delicate pianos, emotional house clearances and last-minute emergencies. We're also a licensed waste carrier, so anything we take away is disposed of legally and responsibly, and we're always glad to talk through exactly how we'll handle your move before you book. Trust should be earned, not assumed, so we let our reviews and repeat customers speak for us.

Our vans and our kit

Good moving isn't just muscle — it's having the right equipment and knowing how to use it. Our vans are clean, well-maintained and stocked with everything a careful move needs: thick furniture blankets, straps and ratchet ties, sack trucks and dollies, floor runners and door protectors. We wrap and pad anything that could scuff or scratch, secure the load so nothing shifts on the road, and lay protection down at both ends. It's the sort of preparation that turns a potentially stressful day into a calm, orderly one — and it's why so much of our work comes from people who've seen us move a friend or neighbour and asked for us by name.

The people you'll meet

Our movers are chosen as much for being decent, careful and easy to deal with as for being strong. Moving day can be stressful, and a calm, friendly team makes an enormous difference — especially on the harder days, like clearing the home of someone who has passed away. We'd always rather help you book the right service than the biggest one. If a single-man van will do, we'll say so. If you don't need us to pack for you, we'll tell you.
